Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford is the heart and soul of Stanford Children’s Health. Nationally ranked and internationally recognized, our 311-bed hospital is devoted entirely to pediatrics and obstetrics. Our six centers of excellence provide comprehensive services and deep expertise in key obstetric and pediatric areas: brain & behavior, cancer, heart, pregnancy & newborn, pulmonary and transplant. We also provide an additional, wide range of services for babies, kids and pregnant moms.

The Senior Project Manager will support the Facilities Manager with Operating and Capital Funded Projects, from planning through implementation and activation for Stanford Children’s Health.

Ensures the completion of projects within budget, on schedule, and meets all program objectives and appropriate government regulations. This position will comply with hospital guidelines and standards, ensure compliance with Joint Commission interim life safety standards and hospital infection control procedures, ensures design standards are maintained and prepares project documentation as needed.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Service Standards of the Hospital(s).

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.

  • Manages, assesses, and documents project scope and program, describing the objectives, physical requirements, parameters, and constraints of the project, including not only the user's functional needs but also hospital and external jurisdictional criteria for heal and safety, operation, maintenance, energy efficiency, quality standards, contextual issues, and aesthetics.

  • Responsible for programming, planning and implementing projects for LPCH

  • Maintains communications on a regular basis, ensuring that all project participants are informed of project status and required actions.

  • Implements quality control measures to be sure all Environmental Health and Safety, and Infection Control guidelines are met and followed.

  • Provides leadership and supervision to assigned consultants.

  • Manages the process of furnishing and equipment selection, purchasing and installation.

  • Provides department leadership, personnel management.

  • Budgets, makes financial projections and has financial approval.


Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Seven (7) years of progressively responsible directly related work experience.

  • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements, such as The Joint Commission and Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development, related to areas of functional responsibility

  • Knowledge of estimating, cost control, scheduling and construction administration.

  • Knowledge of hospital quality control measures related to Environmental Health and Safety and Infection Control.

  • Knowledge of technical, professional and business in the healthcare industry and facilities management.

  • Ability to budget, make financial projections and write reports.

  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely diverse groups, including individuals at all external constituent groups.

  • Ability to plan, organize, motivate, mentor, direct and evaluate the work of others, work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to prioritize work by making informed judgments and to develop solutions for complex problems.
