Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford is a world-renowned pediatric medical center specializing in the care of critically-ill children and newborns. One of the missions of Stanford Children’s Health is to train professionals in state-of-the-art care for seriously ill children and their families. We are pleased to announce a unique educational opportunity for advanced training in pediatric intensive care clinical social work through a full-year Post-Master’s Clinical Social Work Fellowship beginning in September 2018.
The Post-Master’s Social Work Fellowship will develop advanced skills in psychosocial assessments, ongoing supportive counseling, crisis intervention, acute grief and bereavement counseling, patient advocacy, practical resource assistance, and coordination of care to patients and families in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The Fellow will receive excellent clinical supervision from an experienced senior pediatric critical care L.C.S.W. All Fellowship hours will apply towards the Board of Behavioral Science requirement for licensure eligibility in California. In addition, the Fellow will benefit from numerous other training opportunities, including participation in a weekly Pediatric Social Work Seminar and group supervision throughout the year. This is an outstanding opportunity to develop advanced clinical social work skills in a pediatric critical care setting.
This is a full-time paid and benefited twelve-month Fellowship beginning September 2018 and ending in August 2019. The annual stipend is $47,000, and the Fellow is also eligible for $2,000 in continuing education reimbursement. Previous Fellows have also qualified for student loan repayment deferment for the duration of the Fellowship.
M.S.W. graduates who possess a strong interest in pediatric social work and in developing advanced clinical skills with a pediatric critical care population are encouraged to apply by visiting our career website at www.lpchcareers.com and apply to Requisition # 8437 by June 1, 2018.
