Critical Care Float Team

 

The Clinical Nurse is responsible for performing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) and delivering safe therapeutic nursing care in consultation/collaboration with interdisciplinary members of the patient care team. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served on the assigned unit(s). Possesses the ability to assess and interpret appropriate data relative to age and to provide nursing care as needed as described in the unit’s policies and procedures: demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span; and possess an understanding of the range of treatments needed by patients. 

Department Description:  Scheduled to various units in the hospital. The float nurse performs established nursing procedures using clinical knowledge.

Schedule:  72 bi-weekly hours, 12-Hour, Night shifts, includes every other weekend.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education:  Graduate from an accredited nursing program.  Prefer BSN.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of previous pediatric ICU and/or cardiac experience required.  

Licensure/Certification: Current California RN License, Current AHA Healthcare Provider BCLS and PALS certification.  CCRN preferred.
