Job Summary

The Manager-Clinical Engineering is responsible for multiple clinical technology teams and work groups as well as solutions for clinical technology. Moderates budgetary and purchasing responsibilities and supports the Director- Clinical Tech & Biomed Engineering.

Essential Functions

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital’s policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

•    Manages and supports staff with work flow planning, staffing, compliance, financial and human resources

•    Supports the director with strategic planning and budgetary forecasting

•    Interfaces with the clinicians during daily rounding's and documents their requirements and manages solution execution

•    Acts as director when necessary

•    Ensures that team meets regulatory requirements for Preventive Maintenance, repairs, etc.

•    Participates in the Environment of Care meetings and Rounds, and is the voice of the department in those meetings

•    Ensures that IRBs are properly reviewed and implemented

•    Follows up with Medical Device Recalls and Incidents and sees them through

•    Writes necessary reports from CMMS to facilitate work for staff and leadership
 

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in work-related field/discipline from accredited college or university

Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience 

License/Certification:  None required

•    Knowledge and understanding of medical systems; their design, application, and required maintenance.

•    Working knowledge of The Joint Commission regulations for Medical Equipment

•    Ability to work with other managers, collaboratively, to come up with solutions for the department

•    Ability to learn quickly, and be flexible to learn, new systems and technologies (such as Dialysis, OR Technologies, etc.)
