The Quality Assurance and Compliance Specialist collaborates with department leaders and staff for regulatory, quality, improvement, and training processes for the Retail Café, Clinical Food services, housekeeping, FRSC, transport tech, Patient equipment management. Defines product quality standards, develops & monitors specification limits, conducts product analysis to assure conformance, analyzes trends on product deficiencies and establishes vendor auditing protocols. Provides expertise and guidance to department and organizational staff for regulatory, quality improvement and training processes. Oversees Safety program through leading safety committee and monthly safety inspections. Develops and communicate HACCP and food safety standards, policies, procedures, and training materials. Coordinates and lead New Employee Department Onboarding regarding safety training.  Assists departments with survey readiness. Department onboarding with HAACP Training, food safety policies & procedures with Employee file and competency Audit. Works with departments to create and disseminate standardized training.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital’s policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

  • Coordinate training and implementation of program strategies and compliance requirements.

  • Oversee and monitor the internal quality assurance audit process and generate reports

  • Conduct food safety audits in all areas of Food Services (e.g., Kitchen, Café, Human Milk lab, and Formula Room).

  • Conduct health and safety audit (all departments).

  • Evaluate employee departmental HR files for required documentation and compliance.

  • Contribute and assist in the development, revision, evaluation, and implementation of departments' quality assurance and training policies, procedures, standard, and manuals.

  • Provide expertise and guidance to department and organizational staff for regulatory, quality improvement and training processes.

  • Review and support the third-party quality assurance compliance, regulatory law, and sanitation codes.

  • Oversees Safety program through leading safety committee and monthly safety inspections. Guides departmental leaders through risk assessment process and updates departments' annual Safety Improvement Plan.

  • Develop and communicate HACCP and food safety standards, policies, procedures, and training materials.

  • Work with departments to create standardized training.

  • Coordinate and proctor Servsafe exams for Food Services leaders

 

 Minimum Qualifications

 

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science Technology or related field

Experience: Three (3) Years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

License/Certification: Servsafe Manager Certification
