The Behavioral Technician implements naturalistic developmental behavioral treatments based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) under the oversight of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The Behavioral Technician will also work with the BCBA to create weekly lesson plans, group activity task analyses, and staffing plans. The Behavior Technician will work primarily with patients registered in Autism Clinic intensive early intervention programs. The Behavioral Technician will participate in evaluation of new patients to assess treatment needs, prepare instructional materials, and implement individualized behavioral treatment plans in both 1:1 and group settings. The Behavioral Therapist will collect and graph data to assess progress and treatment outcomes and participate in daily and weekly team meetings.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital’s policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

  • Independently delivers naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions to young children receiving early intervention services.

  • Monitor child whereabouts at all times while in program and assist with daily living activities during program participation. Collects data regarding child progress during treatment.  Assists BCBA in updating & maintaining data collection systems

  • Leads parent education sessions under the supervision of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst

  • Assists in the development of individual treatment plans and goals; responsible for maintaining individual patient binders.

  • Coordinates weekly lesson plans.

  • Coordinates daily rounds by presenting the agenda, assigning therapist roles for the day, and tracking clinical updates to be discussed in supervision with BCBA. Attends weekly supervision meetings.

  • Upload and organize video recorded data for research and supervision purposes

  • Assist in ongoing training related to implementation of naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions, classroom protocols, and data collection procedures

  • Participates in assessment of program eligibility for new patients and systematic evaluation of treatment progress.

  • Prepare clinic room and instructional materials to optimize learning opportunities.

  • Assist in conducting skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments under the supervision of the Certified Behavior Analyst

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:  Two (2) years of relevant experience. Prior experience implementing naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions with young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is preferred.

License/Certification: None

  • Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in interactions with all patients, families and staff, including high volume and stressful situations.

  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal, and electronic form to patients, public, hospital/clinic and medical staff, and physicians.

Pay Range

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $67,433.60 to $76,492.00
