Office Assistant IV will guide and support patients through the complex process of third-party reproduction, including egg donation, and surrogacy. You will be responsible for ensuring patients understand their treatment options, coordinating communication between patients and healthcare providers, and managing the administrative tasks associated with third-party fertility treatments. The Office Assistant IV provides a variety of clerical services and support for department staff with limited oversight. The Office Assistant IV performs a wide range of office support assignments in accordance with well-defined instructions and guidelines. Responsible for performing assigned receptionist, clerical, and department maintenance duties. Also responsible for patient registration, clinic scheduling, insurance, authorizations, referrals, and patient billing. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. This job requires interactions with patients, referring physicians and their office staff, clinic staff, and other related hospital departments and purchased services.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Service Standards of the Hospital(s).
Performs related clerical duties and office functions, including the registering and scheduling of patient examinations.
Process patient referrals and insurance authorizations.
Collects and enter patient information into record keeping system.
Greets, orients, directs, and assists patients, visitors, and guest.
Responds directly and promptly to patient inquires including explanations of exams and exam protocols.
Interacts with referring offices and physicians.
Communicates sensitive information via phone, fax, and in writing to appropriate resources.
Screens incoming calls for departmental staff. Relays information to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.
Communicates with patients, families, volunteers, staff, and physicians in a manner that focuses on the principles of quality client service.
Reprioritizes work on a continuous basis accommodating changes that have occurred.
Acts as first line of problem resolution.
Applies previous experience and knowledge when dealing with new work requests.
Maintains clinical/office supply levels and completes supply orders as needed.
Assists with special projects as needed.
Offers suggestions for improving inter and intra departmental operations.
May act as informal team lead.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience: 3 years of directly related work experience. Hospital and/or Medical Experience Highly Desired.
Preferred Experience: Previous work experience working in fertility, reproductive health, or related medical field. Experience in Patient Care Coordination or Case. Management.

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $74,318.40 to $84,312.80
