JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Clinical Data Scientist at Stanford Medicine Children's Health (SMCH) focuses on developing predictive models and AI solutions to enhance patient flow in clinical settings. This role involves building advanced models and conducting regression analyses using complex data sets, essential for the Bridge Program's objectives.

The position requires on-site collaboration 2 to 3 days a week with clinical staff to integrate insights into practical applications. By working closely within the Enterprise Analytics team, the Associate Clinical Data Scientist supports the implementation of data-driven solutions to optimize clinical operations and resource utilization related to patient flow at SMCH.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

 

* Model Development and Implementation: Create and refine predictive models using AI and machine learning to optimize patient flow. Validate models with clinical staff and integrate findings into operational frameworks.

 

* Data Analysis and Regression: Conduct complex data analysis and regression tasks to extract critical insights for decision-making processes. Employ high-dimensional data to forecast clinical resource utilization.

 

* Onsite Discovery and Understanding: Engage directly with clinical staff to gather insights and feedback, ensuring data models align with real-world clinical scenarios. Facilitate discovery sessions to translate theoretical models into practical applications.

 

* Collaboration with Enterprise Analytics and Data Architecture Teams: Work alongside these teams to share knowledge and enhance group capabilities. Foster cross-functional teamwork to integrate diverse expertise into robust data solutions.

 

* Communication and Documentation: Maintain consistent communication with team members and stakeholders regarding project progress, barriers, and opportunities. Document processes and results to support transparency and continued development.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics from an accredited college or university.

Experience: One (1) year of experience working in an analytical role.

License/Certification: None required.

 

KNOWLEDGE

* Ability to observe and understand clinical processes and workflows
* Ability to develop analytics and reporting solutions to provide insights to stakeholders and process owners
* Ability to identify opportunities for process and performance improvement through data analysis
* Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions
* Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines
* Ability to manage, organize, prioritize, multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
* Ability to foster effective working relationships especially between Treatment Center staff and stakeholders and IS and analytics personnel
* Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirement related to the functional area
* Knowledge of new technologies (in specific field) and maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes
* Ability to conduct analysis and formulate conclusions

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $43.56 to $57.77
