JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction and supervision of the Patient Equipment Managers, the Patient Equipment Technician I assists the hospital in provision of patient equipment by performing equipment delivery and retrieval duties as directed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Employees must abide by all Joint Commission Requirements including but not limited to sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patient rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings.
Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
* Contributes to the unit, department, and hospital goals.
* Meets work agreements and responsibilities as defined within the PEMS Technicians Guidebook.
* Responds promptly to calls and system requests, using appropriate system controls and services standards
* Cleans, picks-up, distributes and stores routine inventory items in accordance with established guidelines/policies or as directed.
* Performs daily rounds as defined by standard work document.
* Pickup and/or deliver Dialysis & ITA equipment as required.
* Logs-out/tags-out broken equipment, ensures work orders are generated for the appropriate repair entity and facilitate transfer of these items to appropriate repair location.
* Ensures the prompt delivery (15 minutes of less) of high-priority Respiratory Therapy equipment.
* Keeps PEMS work areas neat and organized with the equipment at the lowest possible profile.
* Elevates customer service complaints/issues promptly to the PEMS management staff.
* Logs out of Epic Rover 15 minutes prior to the end of their shift to complete all end-of-shift tasks and job requirements, check work e-mail and complete their assigned reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Experience: One (1) year of related work experience required.
License/Certification: None required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work involves considerable physical exertion such as frequent lifting of equipment, bending and stooping, and walking. The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working with risk of exposure to contagious disease, radiation or infection, or working with emotionally disturbed patients. Precautions are routine for nearly all situations. The employee may be required to use protective clothing or gear.
Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $32.13 to $36.44
