The Pharmacy Inventory Technician is responsible for receiving, stocking and delivering pharmaceuticals/pharmaceutical supplies for all Pharmacy areas. Assists the Pharmacy Buyers in maintaining drug and supply inventory by managing the receipt of inventory and overseeing existing inventory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
* Collaborate with SHC and LPCH docks/Shipping & Receiving as necessary as necessary for incoming or outgoing shipments
* Receive all products from various vendors, via various carriers/couriers
* Receive direct purchases through PeopleSoft system
* Checks incoming orders against items listed on receiving documents for accuracy of shipment and integrity of product
* Confirm product against Electronic Health Record (EHR), IV manager workflow system and other pharmacy systems by bar code scanning
* Processes damaged products for returns
* Identifies incoming stock requiring quarantine and triages to appropriate person(s).
* Distribute and stock in appropriate storage space (room temp, refrigerate, freezer) for all Pharmacy areas.
* Communicates inventory issues and concerns to buyers
* Receive controlled substances into Pharmacy Controlled Substance Cabinet
* Manage and restock from overfill areas (back-orders/overstock) to main stock
* Establishes and maintains the inventory levels of drugs and supplies, oversees the verification of products received and the rotating and arranging of stock.
* Assists with preparations for annual physical drug inventory.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: Two (2) years of directly related experience.
License/Certification:
- Pharmacy Technician by California Board of Pharmacy
- or
- Intern Pharmacist by California Board of Pharmacy
KNOWLEDGE

* Understand, and manage pharmacy inventory processes for orders and receiving
* Practice FIFO (First in, first out) when restocking all areas; managing outgoing shipments
* Understand nomenclature of receiving documents/manifest /invoice/packing slip including back-order/shipped/recall/return
* Able to understand when to utilize chemo spill kit

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $42.90 to $48.14
