JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Fire Alarm Technician performs installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire prevention systems and equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Employees must abide by all Joint Commission Requirements including but not limited to sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patient rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

* Install all materials associated with fire alarm and sprinkler systems: Fire alarm control panels and modules, conduits, wires, water flow switches, etc as required.
* Maintain adequate levels of work supplies. Orders fire protection equipment under direction of the supervisor.
* Maintain computer-based inspection and preventive maintenance records and daily service reports in accordance with applicable regulations.
* Maintain, test and repair fire prevention systems and equipment, such as fire suppression and extinguishing systems and fire alarm systems in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and California State Fire Marshall regulations.
* Plans, schedules and coordinates testing and/or maintenance service with building managers, supervisors and service contractors. Coordinate and perform large-scale equipment repairs with engineers and/or outside contractors.
* Responds to fire system emergencies during off-hours or on a call-back basis. Responds to natural disasters and campus emergencies.
* Review plans for compliance with California State Fire Marshall regulations. Inspect and perform final walk-through of installed systems in new and major/minor renovations construction projects.
* Trains Facilities and Security Staff on required response, reset and overall operational aspects of Fire Alarm System.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
License/Certification: None

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $54.94 to $62.31
