Our mission is to offer a comprehensive transition-to-practice program that supports APPs in developing and applying clinical and professional skills to effectively serve clinically complex pediatric patients and their families.

Program Overview:

The 12-month post-licensure fellowship empowers APP Fellows to provide direct clinical evaluation and management of patients in both inpatient and ambulatory settings, following specific clinical tracks. During this period, fellows will enhance their clinical expertise, professional skills, and leadership abilities.

We invite new graduate nurse practitioners and physician assistants who wish to specialize in pediatric specialty care, identify an area of clinical practice, and seek mentorship and professional support, to apply for our fellowship program.

  • Professional Curriculum: A competency-based curriculum delivered by interdisciplinary team members, covering areas such as provider well-being, practice efficiency, ethical decision-making, critical thinking, clinical reasoning, interprofessional teamwork, and autonomy in clinical practice.
  • Mentorship: Guidance provided by experienced Advanced Practice Providers and physicians during clinical rotations.
  • Access to Resources: Opportunity to attend pediatric subspecialty conferences and access valuable learning materials.
  • Professional Projects: Engagement in a professional project with opportunities for dissemination within the APP community.
  • Committee Participation: Chance to serve on committees or task forces within the Center for Advanced Practice.
  • Evaluation Process: A structured formative and summative evaluation process to monitor fellowship progress.
  • Support Structure: The program is led by a manager who acts as a liaison between leadership and APP Fellowship Faculty and Preceptors, facilitating evaluations, mentorship, and didactic curriculum discussions.
  • Rotation Leadership: Offers support to APP fellows through detailed rotation guides, patient assignments, and acting as direct clinical resources.
